Effective computer use – One-on-one training

The solution to just about every business need seems to involve an investment in computer systems, but all too often the users of the systems do not receive effective training. Classroom courses are expensive and are not tailored to the user’s personal needs, and usually cover many functions that will never be employed.

One-on-one training is the answer. You work on your own personal computer with my personal guidance — no manual to read, no jargon to cope with — and learn to do exactly what you need. So this training has no course outline and no syllabus; it teaches what you need and want to know in the shortest possible time.

Here are some examples of what has been done for clients who have used this service:

  • Learning just those functions of Microsoft Word that the user needed for the types of documents they wrote
  • Improving, filing and backing up digital photographs
  • Re-writing the instruction manual for a Customer Relationship Management system for a large sales force (translation from IT jargon into plain business English)
  • Preparing PowerPoint visual aids for business presentations
  • Learning how to keep the company web site up to date
  • Setting up and updating spreadsheets
  • Practical backup routines to keep data safe
  • Setting up an accounting system for a small charity

If you are making your business work better by using your PC, this is the way to make your investment in computers and software pay off for you.
